Instagram for local businesses


1)Connect your Facebook business page to Instagram page.*note* also make your IG page into a business page.(I made a video on why you should make your IG page a business page)
2)Optimize your IG page-fill out the form.-put in your business name, address, and phone number (NAP)-consistency and accuracy is key on the internet
3)Brick-n-mortar or online business-simply have a “sign” in your brick-n-mortar indicating that your business is on IG/social media-have a link to connect to your IG page-promote on menus or promotional materials
4)Local hashtags-use local hashtags such as city name, county name, or if the area has nickname use that make your own local hashtag IE #JohnnyPizzaNYC and use it in your posts
5)Look for and Follow local influencers-local influencers are a great way to gain more followers especially those within your niche-target local influencers with following of a couple hundred to a couple of thousand, potential eyes in your local area
6) Follow other local businesses-Other local businesses also mean potential customers-Behind the other side of that IG account is either a social media manager or another business owner-See what other businesses are doing in your local area
7) Not about the number of followers, but the quality of followers-Use IG as a marketing tool to connect with customers
